Hi, I’m Ben.
I’m a Levin local through and through born, raised, and educated here. For the first 30 years or so, my life was pretty typical for Levin: a decent job, sport on the weekends, and I even still lived in the same house. Then life threw me a curveball. It made me stop, re-evaluate, and reprioritise what I wanted out of life, so in 2024 I set off to travel the world and “find myself,” as they say.
My first stop was a three-month stint working in Canada. It was exactly the reality check I was after. It gave me a fresh perspective, reminded me how great life can be, and showed me how much joy there is in the little things. Sometimes you just have to step outside your comfort zone to realize that.
From there, I backpacked my way around most of the globe, soaking up everything the world and its people had to offer. It’s an experience I feel genuinely lucky and grateful to have had.
When I got home, I knew I wanted to build something of my own something fun, useful, and focused less on profit and more on creating an exceptional experience for everyday Kiwis. With a big hand from my amazing new partner, Lorren, Buy Buddy was born.
